Prof Mahesh Chandra Govil
Director, National Institute of Technology Sikkim
Professor Mahesh Chandra Govil received his Master of Technology (M. Tech) and PhD degree in Computer Science from +IIT Roorkee. He joined MNIT Jaipur as Lecturer in September 1986 and is a Professor since 2005. He has 34+ year of teaching and research and administrative experience. He is the Director of NIT Sikkim Since 2017. Earlier he served as Head of the Department Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology, MNIT Jaipur. He was the Principle of Government Women Engineering College in Rajasthan. He was Dean Faculty of MCA, RTU Kota. He was Director of Centre for E-Governance, Jaipur as a additional charge for 5 years. He was State Project Coordinator, SPGU cell, Govt of Rajasthan, TEQIP-II for 3 Years. He is Director on the board of Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation Limited. He is the member of various advisory and project monitoring committees at national and state level. He served as the coordinator of IIIT Kota at its vary inception in the year 2013 and established the IIIT Kota for 2 years. He conducted national and state level entrance exams of AIEEE, RMAR and RPET. He served as member of numerous state and national level committees in various capacities. He is member of Board of Governors and Board of Studies of several universities. He published 50+ papers in journals and 105+ papers in conferences. He has supervised 18 PhD scholars and currently 8 are in progress.
